2. Employment Policies

2.2 Employment Classification

2.3 Probationary Period

  • Duration: 90 days for all new hires
  • Performance Review: Conducted at 30, 60, and 90 days
  • Benefits: Limited during probation (health insurance starts day 1)
  • Leave: Accrued but limited usage (max 5 days annual leave)

2.4 Background Checks & Security Clearance

All employees undergo comprehensive background checks including:

  • Criminal history verification

3. Compensation & Benefits

3.1 Salary Administration

  • Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly (26 pay periods annually)
  • Direct Deposit: Required for all employees

4. Leave Policies

4.1 Annual Leave (PTO)

PTO Policy Updates

New unlimited PTO pilot program available for senior staff (Director level+) starting Q2 2025. Participation requires manager approval and minimum 15 days usage annually.

4.2 Sick Leave

  • Accrual: 1 day per month (12 days annually)
  • Carryover: Up to 30 days maximum balance
  • Usage: Personal illness, family care, medical appointments
  • Documentation: Medical certification required for 3+ consecutive days
  • FMLA Integration: Coordinates with Family Medical Leave Act

4.3 Parental Leave

  • Maternity Leave: 16 weeks paid leave (birth mothers)
  • Paternity Leave: 8 weeks paid leave (non-birth parents)
  • Adoption Leave: 12 weeks paid leave (primary caregiver)
  • Bonding Leave: Additional 4 weeks unpaid (both parents)

5.2 Dress Code & Appearance

  • Safety Requirements: Closed-toe shoes in lab/warehouse areas

5.3 Workplace Safety & Security

  • Building Access: Key card required, visitors must be escorted
  • Emergency Procedures: Quarterly drills, designated safety wardens
  • Incident Reporting: All accidents/incidents must be reported within 24 hours
  • Security Cameras: Common areas monitored (privacy policy applies)
  • Personal Property: Company not liable for personal items

5.4 Workplace Accommodations
